Südliches Wiener Becken Projekt
Südliches Wiener Becken Projekt
Ambient Noise Tomography (ANT) was applied for Geothermal Exploration in Southern Vienna Basin near Wiener Neustadt in the Tattendorf-area (Mitterndorfer Senke). In total, nearly 200 measurement points were recording for 6 weeks each to look in the basins underground.
The goal of this project is to provide to EVN a shear-wave velocity model derived from ambient noise data acquired by a dense nodal seismic network for the prospection of geothermal resources. This velocity model will improve the knowledge of the subsurface underlying the study area and the role of the Sollenau local fault system. This will contribute to optimizing the planning of a detailed active seismic acquisition in the future.
