Mobile Seismological Stations
Mobile Seismological Stations
Geophysical mobile instruments enable the collection of data for specific purposes in places where there are no permanent stations, or with the aim of densifying existing permanent networks. Our pool of seismic instruments is employed in experiments of limited duration, from a few days to a few years.
Instruments
Our pool of instruments includes:
100 cable-free 3-component geophones (Fairfield ZLand 3C 5Hz)
30 Broadband 3-component sensors (REFTEK 151-60s)
12 Short period 1-component (Lennartz LE-1DV)
30 REFTEK digitizers 6 channels (130-01/130S)
Temporary Deployments
- AdriaArray Austria (since January 2023, expected duration: 4 Jahre)
30 seismological stations are deployed in eastern Austria and western Slovakia. They are part of the temporary seismic installations of the European research project AdriaArray.
Correspondent: Univ.-Prof. Dr. Götz Bokelmann
Seismic stations and infrasound sensors were installed on the Gaisberg in Salzburg, to study seismoacoustic signals in the context of lightning (thunder).
Correspondent: Artemii Novolesov
- AlpArray Austria project (April 2015, expected duration: 7 years)
30 seismological stations are deployed in eastern Austria and western Slovakia. They are part of the temporary seismic installations of the European research project AlpArray.
Correspondent: Florian Fuchs
- Ground-Coupling Experiment (2019)
Seismic and infrasound sensors were installed at the Conrad Obseratory, to study the coupling of acoustic to seismic waves.
Correspondent: Artemii Novoselov
- EASI project (Austria, May 2014 - August 2015)
8 seismological stations are deployed on a N-S profile along ~13.5°E. The stations are part of the international EASI project, together with ETH Zurich and IG-CAS Prague.
