Volcanic Eruption of Mount Ontake on September 27, 2014

01.10.2014

The volcano Mount Ontake in Japan is located about 100 km to the west of Tokyo, and is respectful called Ontake-san by the Japanese. On 27 September 2014 showed a limited eruption, in which unfortunately at least 31 people ...

were killed. Fortunately, the majority of the people located at that time on the mountain top could be saved.  The volcanic eruption was relatively limited, and was probably caused  by groundwater, which came into contact with the hot magma, and "exploded".
