Lecture on Recent Advances in Mesoscale Dynamics and Mountain Meteorology by Prof. Branko Grisogono

This February, Prof. Branko Grisogono (Department of Geophysics, University of Zagreb) is a guest at IMGW and teaches a block course in Mesoscale Dynamics.

One of the Mesoscale Dynamics lessons taught by prof. Grisogono will consist of a general overview of the lecture programme, including some recent research highlights. Anyone interested, including doctoral students and the department staff, is warmly invited to participate.

On Mesoscale Dynamics and Mountain Meteorology
This is an overview of selected chapters on mountain meteorology related to the course in Mesoscale Dynamics. Mountain waves, downslope windstorms and orographic deep convection are presented. Among other characteristic features, rotors and bora-wind pulsations are described.
