On the one hand, an inverse modelling approach using both stationary and remote sensing observations is implemented to obtain independent top-down fluxes of CO2 and CH4 to verify current bottom-up flux estimates and to reduce uncertainties in Austrian greenhouse gas emissions. On the other hand, LULUCF (Land Use, Land Use Change and Forestry) Activity Data for the period 2015-2023 is generated based on Earth Observation data.
The meeting was attended by the project partners as well as members of UBA (Umweltbundesamt), FFG (Österreichische Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft) and Austrian Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Engergy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology (Bundesministerium für Klimaschutz, Umwelt, Energie, Mobilität, Innovation und Technologie = BMK).
Thanks to all for a very productive meeting!
