Lee waves and rotor are highly relevant for aviation meteorology. Johannes Sachsperger investigated these phenomena by means of high-resolution modeling and he developed an analytical model to forecast the amplitude of lee waves based on various atmospheric parameters. He verified his analytical model with the help of results from water tank experiments. Results of his thesis are published through three scientific articles.
With the end of his PhD project, Johannes will also leave the Department.
