Global climate data from the 20th century are put in the main focus of a major European research project "ERA-CLIM2". Climate data from the past will be used to verify cimate models, employed to forecast future global climate.
Meteorologist Leopold Haimberger from the Department of Meteorology and Geophysics and his group are part of the study, which will last until 2016.
